This baby shower is one I threw for a lovely woman who had just adopted the most wonderful baby boy, Ernest William. Ernest joined a family of sailors (I hear his parents even had a nautical themed wedding!) and so I combined that theme, with a new take on the "Sip and See" baby shower (a shower thrown after the baby is born so that people can SEE the baby and visit with the mother). With a simple change in the spelling of "See" to "Sea", my idea was off and running! Using a palate of navy and light blue and white, with hints of red, the 'Ahoy It's a Boy' shower was born! I also used the wording 'Welcome Little Sailor' in a very cute banner and had cupcake toppers to match. The party favors found at the head of everyone's place setting, were red and blue chocolate dipped custom fortune cookies reading "Thank you for sharing in W and K's Good Fortune".
This party was also featured on the Hostess for the Mostess Blog !
